International Audi Twin Cup Practical Final 2007

A great mix of languages could be heard at the DTM (German Touring Car Masters) racetrack near Zandvoort at the weekend. 59 teams from 34 nations had travelled to the event which was held from 28 to 30 June, with official information being made available in 23 languages. The goal was to clock up a grand prix victory which had nothing at all to do with DTM racing yet a lot to do with cars. For the third time Audi AG had called upon the best Audi Service teams worldwide to demonstrate their expertise in the international competition.
Teams of service technicians and service advisors qualified for the competition by passing a demanding theoretical and practical test. Sought for was “Audi Top Service”, assessing appearance, behaviour, performance and processes shown by the teams. The practical final of the Audi Twin Cup required the teams to demonstrate their skills in all these categories in typical working situations: In simulated meetings with customers just as well as in mechanically servicing an Audi A6 transmission or in a noise diagnosis on an Audi A8.
There was no shortage of fun at the competition, either: the teams were able to overcome their minor language difficulties when they met up for dinner at celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s restaurant and when they met Audi works pilot Timo Scheider on the racetrack. At the end of an eventful weekend, team Gehlert from Germany emerged as the victor, with second and third place going to teams from the USA and the Netherlands.
