Audi celebrates DTM title victory

Audi thanked the Audi Sport team, the race teams, the partners and the drivers for the successful 2007 DTM season at an end-of-season party in the Audi Forum Neckarsulm.

At the same time, Christian Abt and Vanina Ickx, who both finish their DTM careers, received an official send-off. The complete Executive Board of the DTM organising body ITR e.V. were among the guests.

Michael Dick, Member of the Board for Technical Development, representing the Audi AG, honoured the successful DTM team.

He praised the team spirit and the unstinting efforts for the success of the brand as did his colleague Jörg Felske, Head of Sales Germany.

DTM Champion Mattias Ekström personally thanked every one of his team mates. "Each and every one of them played an important part that allowed me to claim the championship title for Audi," explained the Swede.

Only record Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen was absent from the end-of-season party: The Dane sat stranded at Copenhagen airport because of a cancelled flight.
