The new Opel Corsa now makes its world premiere in London with a spectacular start to its career. At an entry-level price of 10,990 euros, the coupé-like three-door, 1.0-liter 60 hp Corsa is priced even lower than its predecessor, while the more family-oriented five-door model starts at 11,675 euros. Both models can be ordered now. The Corsa is available with a host of innovative features such as the world-exclusive flexible integrated carrier system Flex-Fix for just 490 euros. The first-in-class halogen Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL) costs only 390 euros.

The Edition version is expected to remain the best-seller, with a price tag of 12,435 euros with the 1.0-liter engine. Corsa buyers can look forward to more powerful engines for less money. For example, the popular 80 hp, 1.2-liter gasoline unit now costs only 770 as opposed to 970 euros extra. The Edition’s standard equipment is extensive: in addition to the base model package, it includes air conditioning, power windows in front, radio remote control central locking, the double load floor DualFloor, an asymmetrically split rear Seat back, and head curtain airbags as well as active head restraints in front.

Opel also pursues its modest pricing strategy in the range of options. The flexible integrated carrier system Flex-Fix – the latest example of Opel’s expertise in flexible on-board features – makes its world premiere in a production car. It carries up to two bicycles and is always ready for use on board. At 490 euros, it is considerably lower-priced than conventional solutions (such as add-on carrier plus trailer hitch).

The large panorama sunroof, a design element stretching across the width of the roof, costs the same as the similar option available for its predecessor at 790 euros, but boasts a 25 percent larger opening. Even with a wider range of functions, the price tag for the Electronic Stability Program ESP has been reduced from 525 to 350 euros. Maintenance-free diesel particulate filters can be ordered as an option for both 1.3 CDTI engines for only 525 euros – also an unbeatable price in this class; DPF is standard in the 1.7 CDTI, which will be available soon.

Keeping a successful tradition alive, there is also a special package available for the Corsa up to its market launch on October 7: customers who decide to buy a Corsa Edition before then can take advantage of the attractively priced offer including the radio-CD30 MP3 with steering wheel remote control and 16-inch alloy wheels for just 600 euros, which is a savings of 1100 euros.
