Kwik-Fit makes alloys wheely easy

22 maggio 2008

Kwik-Fit has launched an online alloy wheel supply and fit service aimed at taking the hassle out of buying a new set of gleaming rims on the internet. Now, with a few simple clicks of a mouse, motorists can select a set of alloys that are guaranteed to fit their vehicle. They can even arrange for them to be fitted to their vehicle at a time and location of their choice, by one of Kwik-Fit’s 200 specialist mobile fitters.

Whether you’ve scratched or kerbed your existing set, or are simply looking to upgrade your steel rims, using the internet to find the right alloy wheels for your car can be tricky, especially if you want to upgrade to a bigger set of wheels with lower profile tyres. Indeed, selecting the correct combination of tyre and wheel size is a potential technical minefield for the uninitiated motorist, and mistakes can prove costly.

Thankfully, now all that’s needed is for the car’s registration details to be fed into Kwik-Fit’s online alloy finder. This identifies the make and model of the car and provides a choice of suitable alloys to fit the vehicle.

All the motorist then need do is decide which wheels they like most and indicate where and when they want them fitting, as - unlike most online alloy services - Kwik-Fit will fit the wheels for you too, at your convenience and at a location of your choice.

Motorists might also be interested to know that as well as smartening up and improving the value of their car, alloy wheels also enhance steering response and road holding - especially when cornering.1  Furthermore they reduce the chances of brake failure.2

David White, customer services director at Kwik-Fit commented: “Unless you really know what you’re doing, getting the right alloy wheels for your cars, in most circumstances, is notoriously difficult. Even if you do manage to select wheels that fit, the task of fitting them on your own, without the right equipment then poses its own set of problems.”

He continued: “Kwik-Fit’s alloy service takes the pain out of both the selection and fitting process as our expert mobile fitters will come and fit the right alloys at a time and place that is convenient to the motorist.”
