New 19-Inch Wheels in RS Spyder Design for the Porsche 911 Turbo

A special design of alloy wheel, derived from those on the Porsche RS Spyder racing car, is now available exclusively for the 911 Turbo model.

The Porsche RS Spyder sports prototype recently won all titles in the ALMS American Le Mans Series for the third time in a row. A further outstanding achievement of the Porsche RS Spyder is that it won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in its class this year at its very first attempt and also brought home the winner’s title in the European Le Mans Series.

The iconic Porsche 911 Turbo is widely recognized as the standard bearer for the rear-engined sports coupe. The latest all-wheel drive model, introduced in 2006, offers a power output of 480bhp from its flat-six 3.6-litre twin-turbocharged engine. The 911 Turbo can accelerate from 0-62mph in 3.7 secs and on to a top speed of 193mph.

An outstanding feature of these new, lightweight forged aluminium wheels with their seven U-shaped double spokes is the unique central locking device. Instead of the wheel nuts generally used in motor sport, these very special wheels come with bolts to fasten the 19-inch RS Spyder rims firmly and safely on to the wheel hub.

The innovative security mechanism on the hub is comprised of a cartridge fitted with spring-mounted security bolts. Standing out clearly and impressively, the bolts on the new central locking are eloxy-plated in titanium colour and thus differ distinctly from the silver-coloured paint finish on the 19-inch RS Spyder wheels.

The Porsche 911 Turbo costs from £101,830. The new wheel will be available as an option on the 911 Turbo from January 2009 and is priced at £2,338.00.
