Hyundai has dramatically reduced the price of its two entry level Getz GSI models, making the Korean car maker’s supermini better value even than in its award-winning launch year of 2002.

The Korean car giant has rolled back the price of the entry level three-door Getz GSI by more than £1,000, from £7,517 to just £6,495 on the road. And the five-door GSI model has been similarly reduced from £8,017 to only £6,995 OTR.

These remarkable reductions mean that until 30 th June 2007 the entry level 1.1 GSI models now cost £500 less than when the Getz was first introduced in the UK 2002.

What is more, until the end of June 2007, both the three-door and five-door Getz GSI are available with three years’ servicing for just £99.

Launch Accolades

In 2002 when the Getz first went on sale, it collected numerous accolades, including ‘What Car? Budget Car of the Year’ and ‘Scottish Small Car of the Year’.

As well as now being £500 cheaper than when it was first launched to such huge acclaim, thanks to a recent mid-life revision, the whole Getz range is also now even better, with new looks, new equipment and all-new engines.

The GSI 1.1 litre’s triple-valve four cylinder petrol unit produces 67 PS (66 bhp), yet remains exceptionally frugal, returning up to 51.4 mpg on the Combined Cycle.

Just because they have gone small on price doesn’t mean the Getz GSI is short on equipment. Both three and five door variants feature as standard; air-conditioning, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, ABS with EBD (electronic brake distribution), electric front windows, driver and passenger front airbags, cut-off switch for passenger airbag, central locking, height-adjustable steering column, power steering, three three-point rear seatbelts, and RDS radio with CD player.

The mid-life revision also saw increased safety features with seatbelt pretensioners as standard as well as improved side impact protection and improved rear head restraints.

Warranty and Servicing

As with all other Hyundai models, the new Getz offers perfect peace of mind with Hyundai’s unique five-year, fully transferable, unlimited mileage warranty.  Service intervals remain unchanged at 12 months or 10,000 miles.
