BMW has added an even more powerful four-cylinder petrol engine to the best-selling luxury car in Australia.
The improved 320i gains 5 kW bringing the peak output to 115kW at 6,400 rpm. Torque remains an impressive 200 Nm at 3,600 rpm, while top speed improves to 220 km/h (where legal).

As before, all BMW 3 Series drive the rear wheels via a choice of two six-speed transmissions, manual, or automatic with Steptronic sequential shifting. Fuel consumption for the 320i Sedan remains impressive at 7.9 litres/100 km on the combined cycle.

The BMW 3 Series sedan was Australia’s biggest selling luxury model in 2007 with more than 5,600 examples delivered.

For 2008, BMW has also added two new four-cylinder Touring models, the 320i Touring and the 320i Executive Touring.

These models are specified in line with the respective 320i Sedans, with the addition of roof rails and the deletion of the ski bag. A Luggage Compartment Package is also included across the Touring range, comprising a net on the left-hand wheel housing, a net on the floor, an under-floor dividable storage compartment, a removable, watertight folding box and a reversible liner with integrated protective cover.

The BMW 320i Sedan is priced from $51,000 and the 320i Touring is priced from $54,200.
