The Seat Ibiza tops the list of Greencar vehicles in Spain

SEAT certified excellent results in the month of September in terms of the number of vehicles registered with emission levels equal to or lower than 120 g/km. These results are proof of the Spanish brand’s implication and commitment to preserving the environment by manufacturing vehicles with reduced C02 emissions.
According to the “greencar monitor” report developed by TNS, with a figure of 1,149, the Seat Ibiza tops the ranking of registered vehicles with emission levels equal to or lower than 120 g/km. With 1,704 units, Seat is the brand with the second highest number of registered vehicles within the same emissions level category.

SEAT has had a very positive sales evolution to date, and is currently in fifth place in the global calculation of brand sales for the January-September 2008 period with a total of 14,296 vehicles registered.

Furthermore, the excellent sales results obtained by the Ibiza in September are joined by the evolution of the Seat León. Totalling 532 units with emissions equal to or lower than 120 g/km registered, the León is in eighth place in the overall standing. The year to date figures include 9,332 registered units for the Seat Ibiza and an amazing 4,707 for the Seat León, both with the same emissions figure category.

Despite the current hardships in the automotive industry, the so-called “greencar” segment (vehicles with emissions levels beneath 120 g/km) has achieved a 19% market share in the first nine months of 2008, up by seven points over the 12% share achieved last year.
