SsangYong has announced a new utility, based on the stylish new Actyon model released in Korea just a few months ago of which the first examples are arriving in New Zealand dealerships this month. The new four-door Actyon (pronounced “Action”) Sports ute is immediately recognizable by its modern innovative styling which is even more distinctive than the Actyon SUV on which it is based.

The SsangYong Actyon Sports Ute is powered by SsangYong’s latest technology 2-litre common rail, direct injection, turbocharged diesel engine which produces 141ps@ 4100 rpm and 310Nm torque at 2250rpm. It will drive through a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic and will be available in two and four wheel drive, with a low ratio.

Driving comfort and handling is provided by way of double wishbone suspension at the front and a five-link suspension at the rear.

Many electronic driver assist programmes are available for the Actyon Sports Utility, which will be versatile and capable on slippery road conditions or any off-road areas.

The Actyon Sports Ute has just been released in Korea, following extensive testing in the Australian Outback. The exact specification of the New Zealand vehicles has not yet been finally decided, but will be notified shortly, with the first examples due here in October.
