Infiniti added two more prestigious awards to its trophy case during the Los Angeles Auto Show this past week.  Automobile Magazine presented the all-new Infiniti G sports sedan with a “2007 All-Star” Award, and it also captured a place on Car and Driver’s “10 Best” List.

The 2007 G sports sedan is also one of 11 finalists for the North American Car of The Year, which will be announced next month.

“When we designed the new Infiniti G, we wanted to retain the elements from its predecessor that made it so fun to drive and own – performance, style, and value,” said Mark Igo, vice president and general manager, Infiniti.  “We kept this winning formula and refined it even more.  It’s no surprise respected automotive publications and our customers recognize what a wonderful vehicle the G sports sedan is, and our sales numbers reflect this. ”

November sales of the G sports sedan totaled 4,299, a nearly 30 percent increase over November 2005.  These numbers resulted in the best-ever November for G sales, and the second best month since the G sedan was introduced in 2002.

The second-generation G sports sedan goes “beyond machine” by offering consumers the total driving experience – performance coupled with a seductive exterior design and an inviting, comfortable interior.

The heart of the new G sports sedan remains its advanced powertrain, anchored by the fourth generation award-winning VQ-series 3.5-liter DOHC V6, which now cranks out 306 horsepower and 268    lb-ft of torque. It’s equipped with an automatic transmission with available magnesium paddle shifters or a 6-speed manual.  An all-wheel drive version is also available.

The interior invokes “modern warmth” – a sophisticated, luxury finish with Japanese design cues and a warm, inviting feel.  The new G’s interior is enhanced by the Infiniti Studio on Wheels™ by Bose®, a sound system designed specifically for the G and comparable to a high-end home entertainment system.
