Ferrari''s 60 years in race posters

Until September 16, the Galleria Ferrari expands its exhibition dedicated to Ferrari's 60 years with an original exhibition of race posters.

60 years of races told in an unusual way through the car affiches, the posters of Italian and international car races since 1947 to the present day.

A unique collection consisting of 200 posters illustrates the Scuderia Ferrari’s history on the circuits
the world over through the works of artists like Fortunato Depero, Gino Boccasile, Marcello Dudovich, and Plinio Codognato, who, with their respective styles, are great interpreters of the art nouveau, futurism, and abstractionism.

The posters show all the main races in which Ferrari was the protagonist, from the Mille Miglia to the Targa Florio, from the 24 Hours of Le Mans to the Nürburgring, which has posted up its Grand Prix's or its endurance races for years with drawings depicting Ferrari racers by Cologne-based studio Van Husen or imaginative US artist Michael Turner.

This original and unique collection, that belongs to Sergio Cassano, gives a new look on the Scuderia Ferrari's history and on how, over its 60 years of history, Ferrari has been graphically represented by important artists, who have been charmed by its myth.

Complementing the poster exhibition, also some of the most important cups won by Ferrari since its first races and two prestigious vintage cars, the 500 F2 and the 750 Monza.

The 500 F2, the first car manufactured in Maranello with a straight-4 engine, was a true legend: it participated in 15 races of the World Championship, and won 14, of which 11 driven by Alberto Ascari, thus winning the World Championship in 1952 and 1953.

The 750 Monza participated in its first race in the 1000 kilometres of Monza in 1954, where it achieved a double. But the most exciting race was the Tourist Trophy, where Hawthorn and Trintignant won Ferrari the World Championship with their exceptional performance.

The visit to the exhibition is included in the entrance ticket to the Galleria, which is open every day from 9.30 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. the whole summer season.
