Make father''s day - with historic racing at Brands Hatch

Tickets for the Autoglym HSCC Historic Festival at Brands Hatch – June 28th and 29th – make a great gift for Father’s Day (which this year falls on June 15th). Dad’s memories of the motorsport of his youth will come flooding back, as historic Formula One cars, classic saloons, sportscars and mighty Can Am cars take to the grid in a spectacular series of races, battling it out as closely as they did in their heyday.

As well as offering highly entertaining historic racing and a good dose of nostalgia, the Autoglym HSCC Historic Festival provides fun for all the family – including free entertainment for children. Even if classic racing isn’t their thing, youngsters will find more than enough to keep themselves amused in the Kids’ Super Inflatable Fun City, featuring the largest fun inflatable in Europe, Jungle Play Centre, Penalty Football Shoot-Out and interactive Basketball.

Competing at Brands Hatch will be F1 cars from 1966 to 1985, plus other single-seaters of all shapes and sizes, including at least 100 Formula Juniors, along with F2, F3, Formula Atlantic and thundering 5-litre Formula 5000 cars. The Kent circuit will reverberate to the throb of the awesome 8-litre CanAm sportscars such as McLaren, Lola and Chevron sports-racers, while classic saloons and sportscars will be out in force: Porsche, Lotus, Jaguar, MG, Ford, Triumph and Morgan are just some of the marques taking part.

Lunchtime track demonstrations will showcase other favourites, while the ever-popular ‘drifting’ display will see even more rubber burned than in the races themselves. And when not out on track, this priceless line-up will be in the open paddock, allowing spectators to wander around their own motorsport ‘museum’, complete with the sights, sounds and smells of the past.

Tickets are available in advance for just £16 (£20 on the day) – and children under 16 go free. For an upgrade of £8, spectators can enjoy stunning views of the circuit from the MSV Centre building on Clearways; or grandstand seats are just £5.
