Vauxhall Corsavan does miles and miles to the gallon...

Fleet customers and private van drivers who opt for a Corsavan will be able to rack up loads of Miles on just the one tank, as the latest addition to Vauxhall’s LCV range proved on the AA/ALD Automotive MPG Marathon.
A Corsavan 1.3 CDTi Club, driven by journalist John Kendall and university tutor Paul Nieuwenhuis, clocked up an impressive 81.02mpg on the two-day eco event – enough to give the smallest model in Vauxhall’s van line-up a potential range of over 800 miles.*
What’s more, thanks to an increased payload over the outgoing model, Corsavan customers can benefit from being able to carry more than before. Indeed, the MPG Marathon vehicle was carrying a ballast of 275kg – half of the 550kg maximum payload.
The 81.02mpg figure was the highest recorded on the event, a two-day, 334-mile route across Hampshire, Somerset and Devon incorporating motorway, town and cross country driving, at almost 3mpg more than the winning car, a Toyota Aygo carrying no extra weight.
Corsavan’s incredible performance was backed up by a similarly impressive return from the Vivaro – twice winner of the AA-backed event. This year, a long-wheelbase Vivaro 2900 CDTi was crowned top in its class, returning 46.36mpg over the route with a weighty 447kg of ballast on board.
