Research rates CV Show better than ever

24 maggio 2008

Exhibitor research at the recent CV Show underlines the event’s success.  Exhibitors and visitors alike said the show was the best ever; more than 98% of exhibitors were very happy with visitor quality, with business deals done within minutes of the doors opening on the first day.  89% of exhibitors liked the three-day, midweek timetable for what is now the biggest and most successful show of its type in Europe.

“It is no wonder that research among exhibitors indicated general satisfaction.  So many senior people involved in goods movement made the decision to attend what has become the largest annual transport, distribution and logistics show in Europe,” said David Sedgley, CV Show chairman.  “This great opportunity to meet people face to face is not to be missed by suppliers or buyers.  Business was very brisk across the three days and the proof of this is in the increased attendance figures and brisk enquiries for next year’s CV Show.”

Visitor quality got top marks in the research.  Attendance levels were up for all three days compared with last year, as visitors realised the benefits of seeing so many suppliers in one central venue.

The same research showed that the CV Show’s specialist areas once again proved successful with almost 80% rating them useful.  People were able to make good use of their time on site.  Opening at 8.30 got the thumbs up too, with queues from first thing.  Sadly, too many people failed to pre-register and so beat the rush.

Despite the credit crunch and general consumer media doom and gloom, 28,415 visitors went to this year’s CV Show, the second biggest attendance in the last nine years.  The total is over 1,000 up on last year’s 27,404 visitors.

The CV Show and Workshop 2009 returns to Halls 1 to 5 of the NEC, from April 28-30 next year and the organisers say exhibitors are already lining up to book space.  “In many cases they clearly plan even bigger stands than they had this year,” says Sedgley.  “So, if exhibitors want to share in the successes at Europe’s biggest-to-business logistics and commercial vehicle show next year, they need to act now.”

The 2009 CV Show will be held at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham from 28-30 April.  The event is owned by the CV Show Partnership, comprising the Road Haulage Association, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and the IRTE (Institute of Road Transport Engineers), a professional sector of the SOE (Society of Operations Engineers). Crystal Communications handles stand space sales and marketing for the Partnership.
