Casey Stoner tries Webber's Red Bull for size

01 settembre 2008

Reigning MotoGP champion Casey Stoner visited the garages of the formula one test at Monza late last week, according to Switzerland's Motorsport Aktuell.

The 22-year-old toured the paddock at the high speed Italian circuit and even slipped behind the controls of his Australian countryman Mark Webber's Red Bull racer.

The pre-weekend encounter gave Stoner no luck when he moved on to the Misano circuit for Sunday's San Marino grand prix, however, as he built an early lead from pole position and then crashed his Ducati on lap 7.

Elsewhere at the weekend, F1 championship leader Lewis Hamilton did demonstration laps with his McLaren at the Brands-Hatch (UK) round of Germany's DTM series.
