McLaren to lose team member to NASCAR

17 settembre 2008

McLaren's head of race operations Steve Hallam will switch from formula one to join NASCAR in a senior role at the end of 2008, the Woking based team announced.

He has been with McLaren since 1990, race engineering Mika Hakkinen's back to back titles in 1998 and 1999.

Previously, he was Ayrton Senna and also Nigel Mansell's engineer.

"I understand his desire to spread his wings, and I wish him well," said McLaren chief executive Martin Whitmarsh.

Meanwhile, McLaren added a member to its race team at Monza, in the form of new head of vehicle design Andrew Bailey.
