Teams test tyre markings at Jerez

22 settembre 2008

F1 teams this week tried a few of Bridgestone's proposed solutions for visibly distinguishing its tyres in 2009.

With the sport set to revert to slicks next year, it will no longer be possible to set the compounds apart by painting a groove white.

At the Jerez test this week, which is the last group test of the 2008 in-season, cars were spotted running some of Bridgestone's ideas for the slick tyres -- including painting white and also coloured (such as purple) lines on the sidewalls.

It is understood that, based on the results of the several alternatives tested this week, and also at other previous tests including recently at Monza, the Japanese supplier will examine video and photo evidence and then make a decision.
