Niki Lauda revives Vienna GP idea

25 settembre 2008

Niki Lauda has revived his idea that a street circuit in the Austrian capital Vienna would make a good formula one venue.

"If you see what they've done in Singapore and Valencia, you will see that my idea was meant seriously," the former triple world champion and Austrian is quoted as saying by sportnet.at.

Vienna-born Lauda, 59, said his proposal was originally rubbished by Austrian politicians.

"It was explained to me then that Vienna is a cultural capital, not a place for racing," he said.
