Ferrari title not over yet - Marc Gene

01 ottobre 2008

Despite suffering a serious setback in Singapore, Felipe Massa's title charge is not over yet, Ferrari test driver Marc Gene insists.

The Spaniard, whose contract along with test colleague Luca Badoer's has been renewed for 2009, wrote in his column for the newspaper El Mundo that F1's first night race "dealt a severe blow" to the Scuderia's hopes.

But even though McLaren is boasting about its prospects should adverse weather strike at any of the last three races, Gene insists that Ferrari's F2008 is a championship-winning car.

"We cannot afford any more setbacks, but Felipe is only 7 points behind," the 34-year-old said.

"We are not the favourites but it is not over yet," Gene continued.

"There will be a great equality between the Ferrari and McLaren in Japan and China," he insisted. "And in Brazil I think we will be superior."
