Nico Rosberg rumours will not go away

06 ottobre 2008

Despite persistent signals that Nico Rosberg is staying at Williams next year, speculation linking the 23-year-old German with a change of teams will simply not desist.

The official announcement last week that Rosberg is definitely staying at British independent team was not popular in the German press; the broadcaster RTL suggested that the contract is akin to "imprisonment".

The Cologne newspaper Express, meanwhile, claims that Rosberg's famous father Keke is - despite the 2009 Williams contract - in talks with both McLaren and BMW-Sauber.

Express is usually an informed and reliable source, but it is notable that while there is a potential vacancy at BMW for next year, McLaren's Heikki Kovalainen is firmly under contract for 2009.
