Ferrari still in charge as testing resumes

07 dicembre 2006

Ferrari continued its post-season dominance on Wednesday, as the second test of the 'winter' period kicked off at the 'Circuito Permanente de Jerez' in Spain.

The red-shod pair, Felipe Massa and Luca Badoer, ended the day-one time sheets with a one-two, in the company of runners for McLaren, Honda, Toyota, Super Aguri, Renault, Williams, Red Bull, BMW-Sauber and Toro Rosso.

The southern Spanish morning dawned wet, but some teams opted to use the conditions to trial Bridgestone's new treaded tyres for next year.

Once the circuit had dried up by lunch, notable incidents included Badoer's run into the gravel, and another red flag to recover Robert Kubica's BMW after the Polish youngster slid on his own oil.

Renault's Giancarlo Fisichella, meanwhile, returned to action for the first time since the season ending Brazilian grand prix, but the reigning champion team barely troubled the quickest ten.
