Ralf sampled Fuji in F1 racer

07 dicembre 2006

Ralf Schumacher gave a thumbs-up to Fuji Speedway, the new venue for the annual Japanese grand prix, after driving a formula one car on the circuit for the first time last month.

At an event organised by the F1 team and circuit owner Toyota, the German driver demonstrated the 2006 single seater on a wet track for nearly 30,000 fans.

In 2007, the circuit will replace usual Japanese GP host Suzuka.

"There is no doubt that the facilities are top notch," Schumacher, 31, said.

"The scenery is wonderful, and there are several overtaking points."

At a press conference, Ralf also sounded confident about the 2007 season and pointed out that unique stability should help Toyota to shine next year.

"Toyota is the only team that is remaining exactly the same in all aspects, including tyre manufacturer," he noted.
