Red Bull talks leave Doornbos off track

07 dicembre 2006

Robert Doornbos is not testing for Red Bull at the moment because negotiations about a new contract are taking place.

In Christian Klien's seat, the 25-year-old test driver contested the last races of the 2006 season for the Milton Keynes based team, but the Dutch magazine 'Sportweek' insists that his role at the team for next year is still under discussion.

"Robert is not in a rush," his manager Marco Zecchi is quoted as saying.

'Sportweek' contends that the current sticking point in the talks is a clause that would allow Doornbos to leave Red Bull during the course of the 2007 season should a racing opportunity arise elsewhere in pit lane.
