Fisher, Team work on race trim at IMS

19 maggio 2008

Sarah Fisher Racing hit the track for just under an hour of practice to work on race setup during Bump Day, the final day of qualifications for the upcoming 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500.  Sarah Fisher conservatively hustled around the track with a best speed of 214.485 Miles per hour.

“It was definitely too windy out there for us,” said Fisher, who qualified 22nd for the upcoming Indianapolis 500 yesterday, the third day of qualifications.  “The car was moving around all over the place and I just couldn’t trust it.  We have a good race car and running around the track in these conditions isn’t accomplishing much for us.  So, as an owner, I had to make that decision to park it for the day.  The risk to continue running out there for us was way too high.  We’ll be back out on Friday.”

Fisher along with the entire field of 33 Indianapolis 500 qualifiers will commute to New York City tomorrow for a day of media and photo opportunities with all 33 drivers.  The drivers will stage a photo opportunity at the “Charging Bull” statue near Wall Street with a luncheon with national media following at the newly-opened Sports Museum of America.
