Dreyer & Reinbold Racing suntrust Indy Challenge preview

30 giugno 2008

After a quick turnaround from Iowa, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing has arrived at the .75-mile Richmond International Raceway for this weekend’s SunTrust Indy Challenge with drivers Buddy Rice and Townsend Bell.

Bell returns to the cockpit of the #23 for the first time since the Milwaukee round.  He was allowed to take part in a 30-minute “rookie” session on Thursday afternoon as he has never been to the Richmond International Raceway before.

Rice returns to this track for his sixth start.  His best previous starting position was in 2004 when he started second.  His best previous finish at RIR was in 2007, driving for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, when he finished 5th.  The finish was also Dreyer & Reinbold Racing’s best finish.

Rice looks to score his fourth top ten in the last five IndyCar Series races this weekend.  He finished eighth at Indianapolis and Texas and 10th at Milwaukee.

The first practice session takes place on Friday afternoon at noon EST.  The second practice session is at 3:15 p.m. EST, and qualifying will take place at 7:30 p.m. EST.  All on-track sessions can be seen live via streaming video on indycar.com.  This weeks live coverage will include a qualifying show produced by ESPN.

The race can be seen live and in HD on Saturday night at 8 p.m. EST on ESPN.

QUOTES

#15 DREYER & REINBOLD RACING Honda Dallara Driver Buddy Rice

"We’re looking to get back on the right track here this weekend.  We were putting together some solid runs until we had our part failure in Iowa.  We ran really well here in Richmond last here, and I think we can do just as well, if not better this year.  I enjoy running on this track, and I’m looking forward to a good race.

#23 DREYER & REINBOLD RACING Honda Dallara Driver Townsend Bell

“I’m glad we got to run a little bit in the rookie session.  I wish we would have had a little more time to prepare, but any amount of laps we could do on the track would have been valuable.  I can already tell this is going to be a fun track to race on.  I’ve never been on a track this small with such a big car, but I’m excited about the challenge.  We’re looking forward to a really good weekend with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing.”
