Andretti Green Racing Reports

02 settembre 2007

Steve Newey, Race Engineer, #26 XM Satellite Radio Acura "We had a problem with the electronics on the gearshift unit.  We had to stop and repair that and it was really unfortunate because both drivers were really happy with the XM Acura today.  We could have been up front competing for the overall win at the end of the race.  Now we'll just have to go to Road Atlanta and win there."

Danica Patrick, #7 Motorola Dallara/Honda/Firestone "I was pushing hard on my qualifying lap and I think there was one spot that I could have made up some more time. But, all in all, we've made progress this weekend and have come a long way. It would have been nice to have made the Firestone Fast Six Shootout again, but we didn't have enough to get there. We'll just have to work with the track position we have and get the most out of it tomorrow."

Tony Kanaan #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"We're not very happy with our qualifying effort.  We posted the second-quickest lap during qualifying and fell to fourth, so we're not happy.  The Team 7-Eleven guys have worked very hard all weekend and I'm disappointed for them.  This is a tough course to pass on so the race is going to play out a lot in the pits and on strategy so we have to rely on the mechanics to do a good job on the stops, plus our in laps and out laps will be crucial."

Marco Andretti, #26 NYSE Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"I don't think I did the best job I could have in qualifying.  Besides Ryan (Hunter-Reay), I'm the quickest of the guys who hasn't driven here before but to me, that doesn't matter too much.  I want to be quicker than the guys who have been here before.  There's still a lot of work to do on the NYSE car.  It's a very a abrasive and bumpy track so it's tough to get right but we've got a warmup tomorrow and we're starting near the front so I think we'll have a good day."

Dario Franchitti, #27 Canadian Club Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"This morning, the car felt really good. We had made some changes from yesterday and we had put up a good time on old tires. When we put on new tires, we were much faster until I got into he wall in Turn 6. The Canadian Club team did a fantastic job getting the car repaired for qualifying. I was really happy with the single-lap time. Then we put up a pretty good time during the Firestone Fast Six. We knew we had gotten all we could out of the car, so we parked it. Then Ryan Hunter-Reay ran out of fuel and we were looking pretty good. I thought that was going to be it because you are supposed to slow down for a waving yellow. But, I am very happy with the Canadian Club car."
