Swedish Rally: P7 for Aigner-Wicha in today's super special

09 febbraio 2007

Andreas Aigner/Klaus Wicha in their Mitsubishi EVO IX started the Swedish Rally – the first event of the PWRC – with P7 in the PWRC classification of the Karlstadsuper special, 3.4 seconds behind the fastest time.

“There already were a lot of ruts and ever changing grip levels – so I just didn’t want to take any risk”, the Austrian says.

Earlier, the shakedown at noonwent very satisfactory too, when Aigner was able to set the second fastest time in Group N, just seven tenths behind Kristian Sohlberg.

Aigner: “The car is working perfectly, our setup is excellent. I only completed the stage three times, but still was among the top runners with the time I set. This should be a solid basis for the rally proper.”

BRR team boss Raimund Baumschlager: “I’m happy with the way our day went. Especially the shakedown showed that we have done a very good job preparing for this event.”

The rally continues tomorrow at 8.44 a.m.with the 22 kilometre long SS2 in Likenas. Seven stages are scheduled in total.
