Kevin Savoree, Mike Morrisey to be honored as distinguished alumni

Savoree, a 1981 Eastern Illinois graduate,is one of the recipients of the 2007 Distinguished Alumni Award. Savoree, who serves as Andretti Green's president and chief operating officer, co-owns the three-time IndyCar Series champions with partners Michael Andretti and Kim Green.
Savoree will join the other honorees in attendance as part of the homecoming parade and also at an awards banquet, both on Saturday.
Tony Romo, who attended Eastern Illinois before signing as a free agent with the Dallas Cowboys in 2003, is one of the other seven honorees and has been named Outstanding Young Alumnus.
Morrisey, who is Andretti Green's vice president of finance and spotter for driver Marco Andretti, is also being honored by the School of Business Advisory Board as the 2007 Eastern Illinois University School of Business Distinguished Alumni as part of this week's activities. Morrisey is a 1992 Eastern Illinois graduate.
Andretti Green Racing, which also boasts two Indianapolis 500 crowns (2005 and 2007) and a series-record 32 IndyCar Series wins, is in its fifth year of operation.
