Rahman Takes Remaining Seat at Motaworld

02 marzo 2008

Motaworld Racing has now completed its line-up for the Formula BMW Europe championship with the recent signing of Asad Rahman, the current Junior National Karting Champion of the United Arab Emirates.

Alan Waite, owner of the Chatham-based team said “It’s nice to know that Asad chose our team because of our experience and continuing success. We’re very happy to have him on board and help him develop his career.”

Rahman, who is 17 and lives in Dubai, has already tested successfully at Snetterton and Monza. He is sponsored by the Nigerian airline, Arik Air.

He said “I want to learn about Formula BMW as quickly as possible so I need a team like Motaworld which has a lot of experience and knows how to win races.”

Rahman is the third driver to sign for Motaworld this year. The other two are Monaco-based Thomas Hillsdon and Dutchman Mathijs Harkema.

Many Motaworld drivers have used the team as a launchpad to even greater success. Oliver Jarvis is now winning for Britain’s A1GP team, Rob Bell is the current Le Mans Series GT2 champion, Susie Stoddart drives for Mercedes in the DTM championship and Indy Pro Series champion Alex Lloyd has just been snapped up by the legendary Chip Ganassi to race in the USA. In addition to that Stoddart was nominated for the McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year award and Lloyd was a proud winner of the prestigious prize.
