Cadei and Ragazzi do the double in Ferrari Racing Days at Paul Ricard

The Ferrari Racing Days came to a close Sunday at the Paul Ricard HTTT circuit, with Niki Cadei doing the double in the Italian Pirelli Trophy. Crossing the line behind the Team Rossocorsa driver in Race 1 was Nicola Gianniberti (Ineco/Ram) thanks to an overtaking move to get past Giuseppe Ciro (Motor) at the very last corner. In race two it was again Cadei and Gianniberti in the top two places, followed hom by Marco Mapelli (Rossocorsa.) Also pulling off a double win was Riccardo Ragazzi, who took his Team Ineco/MP Racing car to first place in the Shell Cup for gentlemen drivers, ahead of team-mate Erich Prinoth and Benedetto Marti (Motor) in Race 1, beating Stefano Gai (Rossocorsa) and Roberto Iacopuzzi (Ineco/MP Racing) in Race 2.

In the European Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy, victory in Race 2 went to Bjorn Grossmann (Autohaus Gohm) ahead of Ange Barde (Modena Motors) and Philipp Baron (Baron Service.) In the Shell Cup, after post-race scrutineering, the Stewards excluded the Swiss Team Kessel driver Eric La Marca, for a technical infringement, so that the new result of yesterday's Race 1, ended with the top step of the podium belonging to Frenchman Jean-Marc Bachelier (Ferrari GB Dealer Team) ahead of Germany's Wido Roessler (Tamsen) and Britain's Michael Cantillon (Ferrari GB Dealer Team.) The result of the second race was cut and dry this time, with second spot going to Eric La Marca and a third for Michael Cantillon, both men beaten by Plamen Kralev, the Bulgarian Team Kessel driver.

The result of Race 1 in the Shell Historic Challenge was also decided as a result of scrutineering, with Christian Traber (Ferrari 512 BB LM) losing his win in yesterday's Grid "C" race to Paul Knapfield (Ferrari 512 BB LM, now with Massimo Sordi second at the wheel of a sister car and Grekor Fisken third in the Ferrari 412 P. Today Race 2 for all three Grids "A," "B" and "C" produced the same podiums as in Race 1 with Daniel Maier, (Maserati 300S,) Marc Devis (Maserati 250 SI) and Carlos Monteverde (Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa) all standing on the top step of the podium.

The next round of the Italian and European series of the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy takes place at Misano over the weekend of 12th - 13th July and the card will once again feature the chance to see in action the single-seaters preparewd by the F1 Clienti department of Maranello.
