David Martinez finishes seventh at Trois-Rivieres

18 agosto 2008

David Martinez finished seventh at the streets of Trois-Rivieres in a difficult race where he started tenth.  Martinez had to race with the same tires that gave him so much trouble during Saturday qualifying, and the problems continued during the race.

The Mexican driver and the Forsythe/Team had no choice but to use those particular tires since they were the only ones that had not been used extensively during practice.

Martinez finished safely what turned out to be one of the most difficult races of his career, and once again showed the talent and consistency that have highlighted his career.

“It was a very difficult race, we had to use the same tires that we had for qualifying and that turned out to be a huge problem.  We had a good car and during warm up we were very quick with full tanks, but as soon as we started the race with these tires I could tell that something wasn’t right. The tires made the car very difficult to driver, probably the most difficult car I’ve ever driven.

I knew it was just going to be a race of survival and even though we picked up a few positions it was very difficult to pass.  Once again we achieved a decent result but it’s still very frustrating not to be able to show our speed because of circumstances outside of our control.”
