Macau driver Rodolfo Avila travels as championship leader to the last Asia SuperCar Challenge (ASCC) race weekend at Sepang, Malaysia. The 21-years old Macanese driver is in good position to achieve his second Asian motor racing title after conquering the Asian Formula Renault 2.0 Championship in 2003.

The Macanese has fond memories of the circuit located near Kuala Lumpur where he actually scored his first podiums in the hard-fought supercars series and aims to defend his championship lead to bring the championship crown to Macau.

“I think we will tackle this race with the same approach we have done on the previous two rounds. I am quite confident and relaxed for the weekend, and I know what I have to do to win the championship. My focus is not just on winning the race but the title”, said the driver supported by Macau Government, Macau-slot.com, BNU, TsingTao Beer, Fat Siu Lau Restaurant, RP Macau and Sujika Crafts.

The #20 Ferrari 360 Modena of Mastercar Italy has currently 8 points of advantage over Sam Yau’s Porsche 996 GT3 3.9L and 16 points over Siu Yuk Lung’s Lamborghini Gallardo GT3.

“It's a risk to make any forecasts for the championship, considering that the first three drivers are only sixteen points apart the positions can change in a single race. My rivals may not be that famous in motorsport world but they certainly know how to be fast with their cars. The Yau’s Porsche and Siu brothers’ Lamborghini are much quicker than my car, and the gap is even bigger taking the track characteristics into account. Fortunately I don’t need to carry extra kilos in my car this event”, concluded the Macau SAR driver.

Avila will be on track from Thursday morning for Free Practice, before qualifying begins at 15.20. Race 1 will commence at 09.45 on Friday, followed by Race 2 at 13.40 on the same day.
