FIA GT Championship: Double podium for the AF corse team in Bucharest

27 agosto 2008

Sunday the 24 th of August ended the sixth competition of The Fia GT championship 2008. In Bucharest, Romania, the Af corse team has further increased its lead both in teams’ and drivers’ classifications.

During this brand new competition, composed by two race of two hours each, the Bruni and Vilander’s F430 GT n.50 started from the pole position and managed to reach the second position on the podium , thanks also to Michelin tyres , which as usual guaranteed a brilliant performance.

Not so lucky were Thomas Biagi and Christian Montanari on car 51: just few minutes before the end of the race when they were third in classification, a car crashed them, compelling the crew on F430 GT n. 51 at the fifth place. The same misfortune characterized the second race, where the drivers were involved in another car accident which excluded them from the classification.

Amato Ferrari: “It was a long and hot week end, the new formula with the double race satisfied our prospection. The team, the drivers and Michelin one more time worked hard and I’m satisfied for the results obtained. We gain advantage in the Classification and we are already preparing the next race in Brno.”
