The Seat León Eurocup will be held for the second last time on Germany’s Oschersleben track next weekend, but without the participation of leading Croatian driver Marin Colak, who will be contending the WTCC races in recognition of his victory at Brands Hatch.
After the first six races of the season produced six different winners, the victory in England went to Eoin Murray and Marin Colak, who became the first drivers to chalk up two wins, and which proves just how competitive the Eurocup races are. The competition will continue on the difficult Oschersleben circuit, which is known for its constant curves, a relatively short straightaway with a 90 degree turn at the end, and a chicane, which is the trickiest part of the track for the drivers.
All these factors are an indication that the two races will be both gruelling and thrilling. Additionally, the fact that this will be the second last meeting of the event before the final race in Monza will certainly add to the excitement of the already spectacular Seat León Eurocup.
In the general standings, Colak currently leads with 37 points, followed by Diego Puyo with 28, Eoin Murray with 27, Jean Marie Clairet with 26 and Tom Boardman with 22. Remember that each driver’s two poorest results will not be counted in the final classification, so as not leave at a disadvantage the participants at the WTCC in recognition of their win at each of the Eurocup race events.
