Seventh place Chris Holman prepares for final four races in Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup Series

Chris Holman prepares for Roval action in the Hawkeye State to kick off four races in three weekends in the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup Series

Sitting 35 points out of first place at the halfway mark of the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup, Chris Holman is eagerly looking forward to race 5 action at Iowa Speedway on September 20. “There are some very tight sections with difficult overtaking plus a good portion out on the oval,” commented Holman. “once again qualifying position should be huge in determining a winner.”

The Iowa race kicks off what should be a wild, four race, three weekend chase to the championship stretching from Iowa to New Jersey and finally Atlanta. “I am really looking forward to the more intense schedule coming up,” Holman stated. “with little time to rest between races it will be easier to stay focused on the task at hand.”

The championship points tightened up considerably after Lime Rock, leaving Holman six points out of fourth spot. “It seems that every race someone new steps up and has a good run, so I predict the points will tighten further. There are still several drivers capable of winning races that we could hear from down the stretch. It is great for the fans and for the drivers.”

Finally, Holman is thankful to be associated with Volkswagen and their products, especially the Volkswagen Jetta TDI. “The amazing string of sales successes and new product news in 2008 has put Volkswagen in the spotlight and being associated with the brand is the best thing that has happened in my racing career. The clean diesel story we are telling is a hit with the media and they are always happy to give us coverage.”
