Scuderia Playteam SaraFree aims for another podium at Zolder this weekend

02 ottobre 2008

Scuderia Playteam SaraFree put two drivers on the podium and won from pole at Nuerburgring, the second race of the Superleague Formula season. It was a perfect weekend for AC Milan's Robert Doornbos and for Galatasaray SK's Alessandro Pier Guidi.

Scuderia Playteam Sarafree's two V12, 750-horsepower cars featuring the colours of international football club Galatasaray SK on one car, and the popular magic red and black colours of AC Milan on the other are ready for this weekend's third round of the Superleague Formula season this coming weekend and intend to repeat the deed.

25-year-old Dutch driver Robert Doornbos who races in the prestigious red and black livery of AC Milan explains: "I am looking forward to driving in Zolder. Last year, I raced here and was fighting with Sebastien Bourdais for the win. In the end, I didn't get on the podium so this time I'm more determined than ever to win the race. My goal is to get back on the podium and repeat our success of the Nuerburgring weekend. The Zolder track is substantially narrower than the Nuerburgring which should make race two especially exciting. The race will be all about strategy and pitting at the right time and getting our tyre strategy right. I'm focused on getting the red and black colours of AC Milan back on the podium for all the fans I have here this weekend."

Italian Alessandro Pier Guidi will gear up for action at the wheel of the Galatasaray SK car together with rookie driver Turkey Jason Tahinci.

Alessandro Pier Guidi (Galatasaray SK) commented: "I am eager to repeat the Nuerburgring results and to try also to get a good result for race two. It will be difficult to pass on this narrow track. But I'll do everything I can to give my fans something to celebrate. I have already raced here last year in FIA GT. We have been making constant progress since Donington. Nuerburgring was a great achievement, and it's important to continue that trend The whole team is working very hard toward that goal."

Jason Tahinci (Galatasaray SK) commented: "This time, I hope to drive longer than last week in the rookie session in order to help Galatasaray SK shine in the Superleague Formula!"

Scuderia Playteam owner and founder Giambattista Giannoccaro commented: "I hope for another great weekend and that the team repeats the Nuerburgring results for our third appearance in this series. To score points on a regular basis in this short and new championship is key. Hard work can only lead to a good performance for AC Milan and Galatasaray SK in the Superleague Formula."
