Davide Rigon maintains top position in Superleague Formula

07 ottobre 2008

Davide Rigon (Beijing Guoan SF Racing Team) is leading the overall placings with 207 points ahead of Yelmer Buurman of the PSV Eindhoven SF Racing Team (193 pts) and Adrian Valles (FC Liverpool SF Racing Team, 171 pts).

The next race will take place at Estoril, Portugal on the 18th and 19th of October.
Davide Rigon of the Zakspeed Racing Team once again demonstrated his top class in the second race of Superleague Formula at Zolder. With a lead of 23 seconds he outclassed the rest of the competitors and expanded the lead in the championship.

In the first corner Rigon of the Beijing Guoan FC SF Racing Team was able to overtake Robert Doornbos of the AC Milan SF Racing Team. Continuous rain and stormy weather conditions weren´t able to stop the leader of the championship.

Davide Rigon:
"I started very well and I was able to get past Robert at the first corner. He tried to get back past me in turn two but I was able to hold on. I have to say thankyou to all my team - they were really perfect. The track was slippery but the car was really easy to drive and I didn´t have any pressure from anybody.
It was bad in the first race when Robert hit me. Nobody could see anything and I lost a lot of points in the first race. "I spoke quite a bit with my engineer during race two because sometimes it is easy to make a mistake when you have nobody pressuring you, but I had a good feeling with the car - it was no problem. It was very easy for me".
