Volvo unveils XC60

Ahead of the 2008 Geneva Motor Show, Volvo presents its new crossover XC60, which will premiere in Geneva on March 4. Featuring a coupe-like design and equipped with a variety of safety systems, Volvo’s XC60 is the first car offering the City Safety-feature as standard. The feature helps avoiding or reducing the effects of the type of low-speed impacts that are common in city traffic and traffic tailbacks.

The Volvo XC60 is equipped standard with All Wheel Drive (AWD) and is being launched with a choice of three engines, including two variants of the D5 turbodiesel. The new car will be built at the Volvo Cars factory in Ghent, Belgium and sales will start in Europe during the second half of 2008, while sales in North America will get under way in early 2009.
